Only One 1/18 Scale Toyota Prius Diecast Model for Collectors

The Toyota Prius is hailed as one of Toyota's most successful models. As the world's first mass-produced hybrid sedan, it also remains the most refined hybrid car to this day.

The 1st generation Toyota Prius was released in Japan in 1997. After nearly 30 years of development, the 5th generation Toyota Prius was launched in Japan, the United States, Canada and other regions in 2022. With continuous iterations and upgrades, it has been writing a remarkable chapter in the history of hybrid vehicles.

There is a wide range of Toyota Prius diecast models on the market from different brands and in different scales, therefore collectors can select their favorite one according to needs. However, if you are looking for a 1/18 scale Toyota Prius model, there is only one model for choice.

Look at displayed pictures, this 1/18 Toyota Prius diecast model is the replica model of 3rd generation Prius released in China by FAW Toyota. As you know, the 3rd generation Toyota Prius with codename XW30 was released in 2009 in Japan, then it was officially launched by FAW Toyota in China in February 2012, which is marked its formal establishment in the Chinese market, offering local consumers more eco-friendly travel options and boosting the development of the domestic hybrid vehicle sector. However, Toyota Prius did not achieve strong sales performance in China as it did globally, therefore, it was never manufactured or sold in China in June 2015 even though the 4th generation Prius was debuted in 2015.

As for this 1/18 scale Toyota Prius diecast model, three different colors including white, black and silver are available, however, you can find both the black and white car model at affordable price, the same Toyota Prius model in silver is rare and expensive.

There are a few working parts on this diecast model such as car doors, bonnet and truck, just as real Prius, if you are interested, please watch the video shared below.

In addition to the common Toyota Prius model, here is another one with Chinese police painting, you can clearly see both Chinese and English words POLICE and alarm lamp on car roof.

After production of the Toyota Prius was discontinued in China, no new 1/18 scale Toyota Prius models have been released. As the world's largest manufacturer of diecast cars, most diecast replicas are based on vehicles once produced and sold in China. If you are interested in Prius models of other scales, please follow this blog as we will keep posting diecast models of the Toyota Prius from various generations.
