Only One 1/18 Scale Toyota Corolla Cross Model for Collectors

 When people ask which are Toyota’s most successful models, the Toyota Corolla is always on the list. First launched in 1966, the nameplate celebrated its 60th anniversary a few years ago. Over these six decades, it has gone through 12 generations, each one a classic in its own right. 

However, today I’m not going to talk about the Toyota Corolla. Instead, I’ll focus on a model with a similar name that is Toyota Corolla Cross. When it first hit the market, many people assumed it was simply an SUV variant of the Corolla, given its shared “Corolla” badging. This is not the case, though. While the two share part of their name, they differ drastically in body style, off-road capability and interior space layout, making them two entirely distinct vehicles.

The Toyota Corolla Cross was first launched in Southeast Asian markets including Thailand in 2020, before rolling out to other markets such as China, and arrived in North America in 2022. Judging by its body size, it slots between the Toyota C-HR and Toyota RAV4 in Toyota’s SUV product lineup. It also bears different market-specific nameplate across various regions, for example, it is named as Toyota Frontlander in China manufactured by joint venture enterprise GAC Toyota, in Brunei, it is named as Toyota Cross while in Morocco, it is sold with Toyota Corolla X SUV as nameplate.

Whether you are an owner of the Toyota Corolla Cross or a diecast model collector, if you are interested in its diecast scale model, you can find the only 1:18 scale Toyota Corolla Cross model available on the diecast model market. This replica is modeled after the Corolla Cross produced and sold by FAW Toyota in the Chinese market in 2022.
